Since 1911, The Architects of Time have dedicated
their talents, their passion and their creativity to designing
and crafting distinctive watches that exercise an enduring
fascination.
At the very core of the Ebel design philosophy lies the
commitment to distinctiveness and the exceptional gift of
duality bequeathed by Eugène and Alice Lévy.
This makes an Ebel creation immediately recognizable. The
unmistakable character of a watch by the Architects of Time
is ensured by a unique combination of subtle features. Gentle,
sensual curves confer a voluptuous charm on the sleek, flowing
lines entirely free of any sharp edges. The elegance of
fully integrated cases and bracelets complements the emblematic
shapes and motifs, enhanced by authentic and refined styling.
The sheer sophistication of these innovative yet timeless
designs is further highlighted by the obvious care lavished
on even the smallest details, apparent in a wealth of delicate
finishing touches. Not least of these is the caress of an
Ebel watch on the wrist, providing a level of wearer comfort
that has to be experienced to be believed. On gem-set models,
this silky-soft feel is enhanced by the meticulous attention
devoted to diamond-setting, which guarantees the smoothness
of surfaces thus adorned with precious stones. Much like
a beautiful architectural accomplishment, a timepiece carrying
the inimitable Ebel signature radiates a sense of warmth
and familiarity, while simultaneously arousing admiration
through its daringly novel aspects. Technical perfection
and well-proportioned aesthetics meet and merge in a constantly
renewed love match… made in La Chaux-de-Fonds.
EBEL QUALITY
Ebel products demand the best components and the noblest
materials, typified by the quality of the diamonds used
(IF and VVS1), the excellent grade of mother-of-pearl for
the dials, or the full grain and hand-sewn alligator leather
straps. The expert gem-setting specialists calculate the
orientation of the diamond tables so as to achieve the most
dazzling result. Likewise, the finishing highlights the
creation itself, through masterful satin-brushing or polishing
designed to enhance the radiance of the finished watch and
to ensure the consistency of its forms.
The various stages of production for an Ebel watch include
no fewer than 235 “checkpoints”, all equally
crucial and all involving stringently conducted controls,
in order to ensure the reliability of each component and
to guarantee its longevity. However, above and beyond the
technology and the state-of-the-art machinery employed at
each step, it is undoubtedly the knowledge and experience
of Ebel personnel that play the most crucial role in maintaining
and achieving the consistency of these benchmark quality
standards.
